Dilma announces investments and delivers houses in Bahia.
Alongside Governor Jaques Wagner (PT), the president announces investments in Salvador from the Growth Acceleration Program (PAC) Urban Mobility; the implementation of the metro in the state will be made possible through a contract with the Companhia de Concessões Rodoviárias (CCR); with the public-private partnership (PPP), the counterpart of R$ 128 million will be transferred annually to Bahia during the 30 years of the concession; in Vitória da Conquista, he delivers houses from the Minha Casa Minha Vida (MCMV) Program.

Brasilia - President Dilma Rousseff travels today (15) to Bahia, where she fulfills an agenda in the capital and in the interior. In Salvador, she announces investments from the Growth Acceleration Program (PAC) Urban Mobility. In Vitória da Conquista, she delivers houses from the Minha Casa Minha Vida Program (MCMV).
At 9:45 AM, the president will participate in a ceremony to hand over 1.740 homes built through the housing program. According to the city hall of Vitória da Conquista, the new houses comprise the Acácia, Ipê, Pau Brasil, and Jequitibá residential complexes and are intended for low-income families with a monthly income of up to R$ 1,6. The governor of Bahia, Jaques Wagner (PT), the mayor of the municipality, Guilherme Menezes (PT), and the president of Caixa Econômica Federal, Jorge Hereda, are expected to participate in the event.
Later, Dilma will travel to the capital, Salvador, where at 12:45 pm she will sign the order of service for the construction of a new section of the metro system that connects the city to Lauro de Freitas, in the metropolitan region. The implementation of the metro in the state will be made possible through a contract with the Companhia de Concessões Rodoviárias (CCR). With the public-private partnership (PPP), Bahia will receive an annual counterpart of R$ 128 million during the 30-year concession period.
According to the government of Bahia, CCR won the auction in August and will be responsible for the construction and administration of the lines. The total length of the metro system is 36 kilometers and it should be completed in 42 months. In addition to the governor, the signing ceremony will be attended by the state secretaries of the Civil House, Rui Costa, and of Urban Development, Cícero Monteiro.
The president is expected to return to Brasília at 15:30 PM, where she is scheduled to meet with Gilberto Carvalho, Chief Minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, and shortly after with Senator Eduardo Braga (PMDB-AM), the government leader in the Senate.
