Detran intensifies Operation Dry Law during New Year's Eve.
Between December 31st and January 2nd, 80 police officers and agency staff will be on Goiás state highways conducting breathalyzer tests on drivers. Teams will operate in the capital and metropolitan region, as well as Anápolis, Caldas Novas, and Pirenópolis. During the Christmas holiday, police officers stopped 513 drivers and 18 were arrested.

The work is expected to begin in the late afternoon of the last day of the year. The idea is that, in addition to strict enforcement, an educational campaign will also be developed regarding the risks of mixing alcohol and driving.

In the latest intensified operation, during the Christmas holiday, the first holiday under the new dry law in Goiânia and the Metropolitan Region, Operation Responsible Nightlife approached 513 people, of whom 18 were detained and 14 received administrative penalties.
According to information from Detran, 25 vehicles and 17 National Driver's Licenses (CNHs) were seized.
