Derval: "PMDB is upright and on the right track"
Thanks to an agreement between the group led by the Minister of Agriculture, Kátia Abreu, and the members closest to Governor Marcelo Miranda, the former vice-mayor of Palmas, Derval de Paiva, was elected president of the party in the state this Friday, the 15th; federal deputy Josi Nunes became vice-president and Paulo Lima, a businessman historically linked to Kátia, assumed the general secretary position of the party; the new president of the PMDB stated that the party is now united for the 2016 elections. "We found the path to peace after some friction, and the important thing is that it was possible to reach some agreements and the union is complete. The party is upright and on the right track," he stated; for Governor Marcelo Miranda, the "true PMDB" has returned.
Tocantins 247 - Members of the PMDB party from various regions of the state elected the new members of the PMDB State Executive Committee this Friday, the 15th.

The meeting brought together the main leaders of the state's PMDB party. Participants included Governor Marcelo Miranda, the three federal deputies – Carlos Gaguim, Josi Nunes, and Dulce Miranda – as well as state deputies Nilton Franco and Rocha Miranda, mayors, council members, and leaders such as Leomar Quintanilha and Osvaldo Reis.
The new president of the PMDB stated that the party is now united for the 2016 elections. "We found a path to peace after some friction, and the important thing is that it was possible to reach some agreements and the union is complete. The party is upright and on the right track," he affirmed.
According to Governor Marcelo Miranda, the "true PMDB" has returned. "It is through experience and the maturity of our differences that we will find the best path for Tocantins and for Brazil. In a democracy, there is no room for isolated actions, and today we have our unity in this new era of reconstruction for the State," he stated.
Congresswoman Josi Nunes highlighted that the 50/50 split of forces with Senator Kátia Abreu's group will allow for progress in dialogue within the party. "Today the party is in a position to sit at the table and debate, and from now on there will be no more of this story of divisive factions; today we understand that there is only one faction, the PMDB," she stated.
