Bahia 247 - The 39 federal deputies who make up the Bahia delegation in the Federal Chamber spent a total of R$ 1.245.104,13 on airfare between January and July of this year. The highest spender on air travel is federal deputy Sérgio Brito (PSD), according to a survey conducted by Bocão News.
The parliamentarian represents an expense of R$ 56,4 in the analyzed period, followed by Antônio Brito (PSD), with R$ 45, and Daniel Almeida (PCdoB), who incurred expenses of R$ 44,6 in the same period.
Daniel Almeida attributes the expenses to the increased demands of his agenda as leader of the PCdoB.
"This amount refers to activities related to my mandate and is at the limit of the quota for parliamentary activities. My vote count is very spread throughout the state, so I use airfare to travel around Bahia. Another issue is that, as the leader of the caucus, I have a greater obligation to fulfill agendas in other states," says the communist leader.
In fourth place in the ranking is Congressman Valmir Assunção, from the PT party, who spent R$ 42,4. Arthur Maia (PPS) appears next, with R$ 41,3 in expenses.
Bebeto Galvão (PSB) spent R$ 40,9, followed by Jonga Bacelar (PR), with R$ 40,8, and José Nunes (PSD), with R$ 39,7.
Those who spent the least were João Gualberto (PSDB), R$ 5.013,97; Jutahy Júnior (PSDB), R$ 15.367,10; and Benito Gama (PTB), with R$ 20.339,37.
Two alternates are also on the list of those who spent the least: Luciano Braga (PMB), R$ 13.126,15; and Fernando Torres (PSD), R$ 11.190,57.
The total amount that the Chamber allocates for airfare per deputy from Bahia is R$ 39.010,85, and is part of the so-called parliamentary quota, which has a different value for each state in the federation, as it takes into account the price of airfare from Brasília to the capital of the state for which the deputy was elected.
