Deputies approve LDO (Budget Guidelines Law), but do not go into recess.

The deputies approved in the Committees and in plenary the Budget Guidelines Law for 2019, with amendments; among the main ones are the provision for a public competition in the health sector this year and that the mandatory amendments of parliamentarians benefiting entities and cooperatives will only be allowed if they are recognized as being of public utility in the Assembly.

Piauí Today - The Budget Guidelines Law for 2019, approved hours earlier in the Oversight and Control, Finance and Taxation Committee of the Legislative Assembly, was voted on in first and second readings and final drafting in the Plenary during the session this Wednesday (11), along with other matters on the agenda, such as the one that proposes the creation of the State Public Security Fund of the State of Piauí.

Representatives Juliana Moraes Souza and Flora Izabel had requested a review of the proposal, but did not present any changes to the opinion of Representative Nerinho, rapporteur of the Budget Guidelines Law in the committee, who had the consultancy of the Planning Secretariat of the State of Piauí and after hearing from all bodies and branches of government.

The main changes in the drafting of the 2019 Budget Guidelines Law (LDO) were the provision for a state public service examination in the health sector this year and that mandatory amendments by state deputies benefiting entities and cooperatives will only be allowed if they are recognized as being of public utility by the State Legislative Assembly.

The president of the Legislative Assembly, deputy Themístocles Filho, informed that the first period of legislative activities will end next Tuesday (17) as foreseen in the Internal Regulations of the Power.

Main Targets 
According to the 2019 Budget Guidelines Law (PLDO), next year's budget goals include human development with an emphasis on health, education, and security, as well as economic growth with social inclusion. The forecast is that Piauí's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will grow by 3% next year.
