After the crisis in Belo Horizonte, Temer wants a senator from the PSD party.

The president of the PMDB party is taking advantage of the turbulent moment following the intervention of São Paulo's mayor, Gilberto Kassab, in the Minas Gerais capital to try and attract Kátia Abreu. "If you had come to the PMDB, perhaps none of this would have happened," stated the Vice-President of the Republic.

Mines 247 – Senator Kátia Abreu, from Tocantins and vice-president of the PSD party, has already expressed her outrage at the stance of the party's president and mayor of São Paulo, Gilberto Kassab, regarding the intervention in Belo Horizonte. According to the website... Online ValueThe Vice President of the Republic and national president of the PMDB personally extended an invitation to the senator. "I told her the doors are open. She said she would check it out. The conversations will happen naturally," Temer stated.

If Senator Kátia Abreu accepts Michel Temer's invitation and moves to the PMDB, Kassab's party will have lost two of its four vice-presidents in less than a week. Former minister Roberto Brant left the PSD because he also disagreed with the São Paulo mayor's intervention in the Belo Horizonte elections. Kassab has stated that time will prove his decision to ally with the Minas Gerais PT in support of Patrus Ananias' candidacy right.

The possibility of the senator joining the PMDB goes beyond her feud with the PSD. As president of the National Confederation of Agriculture (CNA), her move to the party of the Vice-President of the Republic could open doors to leading the Ministry of Agriculture.
