"The testimony against Temer will influence the impeachment."

The testimony of the former president of Transpetro, Sérgio Machado, stating that the interim president, Michel Temer (PMDB), requested bribes to fund Gabriel Chalita's (PMDB) campaign for mayor of São Paulo in 2012; for the leader of the Dilma Rousseff government in the Senate, Humberto Costa (PT-PE), "it is an extremely serious accusation that directly targets the interim president. It is necessary that it be rigorously investigated and that the facts be clarified as quickly as possible. The senators need clarity about what happened before voting on the definitive removal of President Dilma. This information could significantly influence the outcome."

247 -The testimony of the former president of Transpetro, Sérgio Machado, has hit the Planalto Palace hard with the information that the interim president, Michel Temer (PMDB), asked for bribes to fund his 2012 election campaign. This is the assessment of Dilma's leader in the Senate, Humberto Costa (PT-PE), who believes that Machado's confession could change the impeachment scenario in the House in favor of the suspended president.

"This is an extremely serious accusation that directly targets the interim president. It needs to be rigorously investigated and the facts clarified as quickly as possible. Senators need clarity about what happened before voting on the definitive removal of President Dilma. This information could significantly influence the outcome," Humberto estimates.

In a plea bargain made to prosecutors who are part of the Lava Jato task force, the former president of Transpetro stated that, in 2012, he met with Temer at the Brasília Air Force Base, at the request of the then Vice-President of the Republic. On that occasion, Michel Temer told him that he was having trouble financing Gabriel Chalita's (PMDB) campaign for Mayor of São Paulo. And he asked him to find some money, diverted from the Petrobras subsidiary, to help his political ally's campaign.

According to Machado, it was through the construction company Queiroz Galvão that he managed to secure an official contribution of R$ 1,5 million for Gabriel Chalita. "I gave it to Michel," acknowledged the former president of Transpetro.

"Sérgio Machado's confession was accepted by the Attorney General's Office and ratified by the Supreme Federal Court. It is very consistent and well-documented. It cannot be disregarded at this time in any way because we need to know the extent of Temer's involvement in this illegality," explained Humberto Costa.
