Daniel reacts: he tells Dona Iris to get a life and sees Iris as a closed chapter.

Federal deputy Daniel Vilela gave an interview to the newspaper O Popular and reacted to the attacks he has been suffering from former deputy Dona Iris; "She needs to reinvent herself and make her contribution. The party will not waste time on this. Our role is constructive, it is forward-looking, to present alternatives. I will not get into petty squabbles"; Daniel Vilela also ignores the appeal of some PMDB members for Iris Rezende's return to the election; "I don't see it as viable. We will never cease to recognize Iris's leadership and importance, but I think now it's a new path that we will build. And we are prepared for that."

Goiás 247 - After receiving a barrage of criticism on Twitter from former congresswoman Dona Iris, federal deputy Daniel Vilela reacted and responded to his party colleague. Dona Iris and Iris Rezende consider Daniel and his father, Maguito Vilela, responsible for the movement that removed the former governor from the leadership of the PMDB party.

On social media, Dona Iris has been accusing Daniel of handing the party over to businessman Vanderlan Cardoso (PSB) and demanding that the PMDB have a candidate for mayor of Goiânia. "I'm saddened because Dona Iris has no reason to launch attacks. This doesn't contribute to the party and it's not what society expects from the political class. This very bitter discourse has only harmed her. Society itself already gave her a message in 2014 and, from what I've seen, she didn't understand," Daniel told the newspaper O Popular.

The congressman said that Dona Iris needs to adopt a new way of doing politics. "She needs to reinvent herself and make her contribution. The party won't waste time on this. Our role is constructive, it's forward-looking, it's about presenting alternatives. I'm not going to get into petty squabbles."

Daniel Vilela ignores requests from some members of the PMDB party for Iris to reconsider his retirement decision and run for mayor. "I think that's water under the bridge. Iris made a personal decision that needs to be respected. Those who keep promoting this are people who want to undermine their own party and the current administration. I don't see any viability in that. We will never stop recognizing Iris's leadership and importance, but I think now we're going to build a new path. And we are prepared for that."
