Goiás 247 - Candidate Daniel Vilela (MDB) participated in the program "Falando Sério" on Rádio Interativa this Thursday morning and criticized candidates who make outlandish proposals, especially in the area of public security. This is a jab at Senator Ronaldo Caiado (DEM), who has already stated his intention to equalize police salaries on his first day in office.

“Some candidates are already making their traditional outlandish promises, which are not feasible. They are not achievable for the moment Goiás is experiencing,” Daniel fired back. Governor José Eliton (PSDB) also reacted to the statements disconnected from reality made by Caiado. Eliton stated that the proposal to equalize salaries is illegal.

“This is not the kind of politics that Brazil needs. This is especially not the kind of politics that Goiás needs: we need a politics that is genuine, transparent, and feasible,” said Daniel on Interativa, acknowledging that solutions for public policies are made in the “medium and long term” and must respect the state’s “fiscal balance.”

Ronaldo Caiado has shown great difficulty in discussing his proposals for public safety. In an interview with the newspaper O Hoje, he said that organized crime has taken over the state, but did not mention any effective action in this area. This Thursday, journalist Rubens Salomão, from Rádio Sagres 730, stated that Caiado's government plan in the area of security was "too generic".
