Business confidence grows among Pernambuco entrepreneurs.
The Pernambuco Industry Confidence Index (ICI-PE) grew 1,3% between October and November, rising from 111,2 to 112,6 points; the increase in confidence among Pernambuco's business community in November was greater than the National Manufacturing Industry Index (ICI-BR), which grew 1,2%, reaching 95,7 points; the research by the Condepe/Fidem Agency, in partnership with the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), points to the second consecutive month of growth in the ICI-PE, demonstrating a recovery in Pernambuco's industry in the face of losses suffered in the third quarter of 2013.
Pernambuco 247 - The Pernambuco Industry Confidence Index (ICI-PE) grew 1,3% between October and November, rising from 111,2 to 112,6 points. The increase in confidence among Pernambuco's business community in November was greater than the National Manufacturing Industry Index (ICI-BR), which grew 1,2%, reaching 95,7 points. The research was released by the Condepe/Fidem Agency, in partnership with the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV). At the same time, the Pernambuco Services Confidence Index (ICS-PE) fell 2,2% in November, compared to the same period in 2012. Nationally, confidence in services fell from -4,7% to -6,6%.
Data released by Condepe/Fidem indicates the second consecutive month of growth in the ICI-PE (Industrial Confidence Index of Pernambuco), demonstrating a recovery in Pernambuco's industry following the losses suffered in the third quarter of 2013. Two consecutive months of growth had not been recorded since June 2012. With this index, Pernambuco's ICI remained above the historical average of 109,6 points, registered in April 2005. At the same time, the national ICI remained below the historical average for the same period, which is 100,9.
The research also presented the Current Situation Index (ISA) and the Expectation Index (IE) for Pernambuco and Brazil. The ISA-PE showed an increase of 3,9%, reaching 124,4. The ISA-BR registered an increase of 1,8%, reaching 96,1. As for the IE, the Pernambuco index registered a decrease of 1,7% in November, falling to 101,7. The IE-BR, however, had an increase of 0,6%, reaching 95,4.
Despite the decline in the ICS-PE, the indices showed improvement compared to the data from October. While the November ICS fell by 2,2%, the October Services Confidence Index fell by 7,6%. The observed improvement influences the ISA and IE indices. The smallest decline was observed in the questions... Business Trends e Projected Demand. The question Business Trends It went from -13,8% in October to -1,0% in November. According to the survey, 44,3% of companies expect an improvement in business, while 7,4% expect a worsening of trade. Regarding the aspect... Projected Demand It registered a slight improvement, going from -8,9% to -6,8% between the months of October and November.
In this aspect, 46,8% of companies expect an increase in demand, while 11,3% expect a decrease. Current Business Situation It showed a 3,2% increase in November. In this regard, 35,9% of companies have an optimistic view of the aspect, compared to 9,1% of companies that rate the situation as bad. As for... Current Demand Volume, It fell “only” 3,8% in November, after falling 7,0% in October. In the survey, 18,8% of companies rate demand as “strong”, while 13,9% classify demand as “weak”.
