In 2017, Piauí continues to grow. During the first month of the year, the Commercial Registry of the State of Piauí recorded the incorporation of 1.599 companies. This number is 32% higher than the total registered in the same period in 2016, reflecting the state's business growth.
Among the businesses opened, Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEI) continue to have the highest number of incorporations, with 1.138 businesses opened, representing 71% of the total.
According to the president of Jucepi, Alzenir Porto, this majority is due to the ease of establishing and maintaining a Micro Individual Entrepreneur (MEI). "The MEI has many advantages; the entrepreneur knows exactly how much tax they will pay monthly, and with the exemptions guaranteed by law, the entrepreneur will pay up to R$ 50," says the manager.
The number of business closures also brought a positive statistic: in January 2016, 103 companies closed, and in 2017 only 76 business registration cancellations were recorded. This means fewer companies closing and more jobs being created, strengthening the state's economy.
“The State Government, through Jucepi, is investing heavily in the economic development of Piauí and especially in Piauí companies. We are modernizing to guarantee a faster and safer environment for entrepreneurs, and we also have new projects for 2017 that will certainly bring great benefits to the people of Piauí. Phase II of Piauí Digital is coming soon!”, concludes Alzenir Porto.
