Goiás 247 - The Jamil Issy Center of Reference and Excellence in Chemical Dependency (Credeq), in Aparecida de Goiânia, will be inaugurated this Thursday, the 23rd, at 8 am. A pioneer in the country, the project aims to provide free care to victims of alcohol, crack, and other drug use. In total, the unit will offer 96 places and was built at a cost of R$ 26,6 million, with monthly operating costs of R$ 602.
The resources come from the state treasury. For Governor Marconi Perillo, Credeq will be a showcase in the country. “It will be a revolution for the treatment and recovery of drug addicts. The unit is a real measure to ensure that treatment is carried out with excellence. It will alleviate the suffering of many mothers and fathers and restore dignity to a significant portion of society,” he emphasizes.
In addition to the governor, the event will be attended by the Secretary of Health, Leonardo Vilela, superintendents of the State Health Secretariat (SES), representatives of the state government, and institutions linked to chemical dependency. The Center of Excellence is located on Av. Copacabana, Setor Expansul, in Aparecida de Goiânia. The unit's objective is to facilitate adherence to treatment for severely ill and more complex patients, with the possibility of hospitalization for up to 90 days and return for a longer period depending on medical evaluation.
The target audience will be children up to 12 years old, adolescents, and adults. All will be admitted to the unit voluntarily. Family visits will be conducted daily. The Credeq will be managed by the Social Organization Luz da Vida, according to public call number 002/2014. The Reference Center will have approximately 360 professionals in total. The investment totaled R$ 2.621.88 million in medical and hospital equipment, therapeutic items, and furniture. The opening will be gradual, with emphasis on the adult wing, which will have six detoxification beds and 24 rehabilitation beds. As is routine in health units, the Credeq's capacity will be progressively increased until it reaches 96 beds.
“The gradual reopening is being done according to technical criteria established by the Ministry of Health. All operations will follow a regulatory flow, established to ensure the faithful fulfillment of the unit's profile,” says the Secretary of Health, Leonardo Vilela. The forecast is that in the tenth month of operation, the unit will have 2.200 outpatient visits and 64 hospitalizations per month.
