Brazilian postal service to suspend operations in Pernambuco.

Pernambuco 247 - Employees at the Post Office's Parcel Processing Center in Recife (CTE-Recife) are expected to strike this Friday (1). The category is demanding better working conditions. According to the Union of Postal Workers in Pernambuco (Sintect-PE), the place is abandoned, the heat is intense and there are reports of employees who have fainted due to inadequate ventilation. The strike is expected to affect the distribution of parcels in six states in the Northeast.

According to the NE10 portal, employees are threatening to suspend activities at the CTE-Recife (Postal Distribution Center) for 24 hours if an agreement is not reached. In a statement, the Post Office informed that it is already taking steps to resolve the reported problems. "The company is continuing with actions already underway to constantly improve working conditions, among other requests received," the text says.

According to the workers, the strike is scheduled to begin at 5 a.m. and is expected to be peaceful. In addition to Pernambuco, the states of Paraíba, Maranhão, Alagoas, Sergipe, and Rio Grande do Norte are also expected to be affected by the suspension of activities at CTE-Recife.
