Corinthians is pressuring Odebrecht to halt construction projects.

247 - Corinthians has been battling with Odebrecht to speed up the completion of the Itaquerão stadium construction. According to Perrone's blog, those responsible for the arena criticize the pace of work by Marcelo Odebrecht's construction company and claim that the project will not be delivered by the stipulated deadline of December 31, 2014.

The club is in a hurry to be able to fully utilize the arena. The stadium's coffers have not been able to reach the amount projected to pay for a construction project of approximately R$ 1 billion. The Itaquerão stadium was designed to generate R$ 300 million per year, but currently, it doesn't even reach R$ 200 million annually.

On the 18th, Corinthians published a statement on its website listing more than 20 projects that are still to be carried out (read here).
