Tocantins 247 - Governor Marcelo Miranda (PMDB) visited the Tocantins Agricultural Technology Fair (Agrotins Brasil 2015) for the second time this Friday, the 8th.
Marcelo visited booths and attended the signing of the General Cooperation Agreement between Banco da Amazônia and Sebrae Tocantins. The agreement will provide financing of approximately R$ 20 million to rural producers. Sebrae will focus on training producers, and Banco da Amazônia will provide the necessary financing to improve the businesses of the trained producers.
According to the governor, the agreement will guarantee investments in the agribusiness sector for both small and large producers. "Agrotins is a fundamental space for rural producers in our state, as it provides, in one place, information, research, and everything that is best to promote agribusiness in the state," the governor emphasized.
According to the president of Banco da Amazônia in Tocantins, Marivaldo Melo, the financing should benefit more than 30 producers, enabling the purchase of machinery, equipment, agricultural costs, and reforestation.
While still at the fair, the governor watched a promotional video from the company Citrobell, which proposes a partnership to take over the administration of the State's Fruit and Vegetable Supply Center (Ceasa).
According to the company's president, Idelmar Alves Oliveira Júnior, the intention is to make Palmas and the surrounding region a center for food production and distribution, serving not only the state but, mainly, the North and Northeast regions of Brazil. "We are in Minas Gerais and we serve Tocantins. And we've seen very good logistics for production leaving here," he added.
