Newly appointed Secretary of Health of Alagoas, Christian Teixeira, declared that he will use "creativity" to overcome the crisis in the supply of medicines and supplies registered in units maintained by the Executive Branch in the capital and the interior; "Creativity is needed to overcome this supply issue, relying on correct planning and also on new ideas. I cannot wait to buy supplies and other things until they are lacking in the locations. Logically, I have to anticipate all of this," said Christian.
Alagoas 247 - The newly appointed Secretary of Health of Alagoas, Christian Teixeira, declared, this Thursday (2), that he will use "creativity" to overcome the crisis of supply of medicines, supplies and related items that has been recorded several times over the last few years in some units maintained by the Executive Branch in the capital and in the interior of the state. He took over the position from Secretary Rosângela Wyszomirska.
According to the secretary, it is important that the Health Department works diligently to consolidate what is truly necessary to keep state government units open and functioning well. He stated that the key to this is proper planning to ensure that the population receives no medical assistance. When asked how to overcome the supply crisis, he pointed to the solution: "new ideas."
"Creativity is needed to overcome this supply issue, relying on proper planning and new ideas. Is the Brazilian healthcare system well-regarded by the population? No, right? Therefore, it's important that resources are used correctly so that the results expected by the population can happen as soon as possible. I can't wait to buy supplies and other things until they're lacking elsewhere. Logically, I have to anticipate all of this," he explained.
In November, staff at the Hélvio Auto Teaching Hospital (HEHA) went on strike to protest the lack of basic supplies necessary to provide care to patients, such as medicines, gloves, and masks. Previously, shortages of these supplies had also been reported at the State General Hospital (HGE).
He further emphasized that the state now has a better physical infrastructure in its network of health units. Therefore, he pointed out that what is lacking to provide better care in some places, such as the Santa Mônica maternity hospital, is personnel.
Christian Teixeira arrived at the Health Secretariat with the mission of ensuring better results for the department. He previously held the position of Secretary of State for Planning, Management and Heritage (Seplag).
