Conseg wants to punish police officers assigned to a congressman.
Military police officers assigned to provide security for state representative Antônio Albuquerque (PRTB) and his sister, Rosa Albuquerque, who is a member of the Alagoas State Court of Auditors, will be investigated for alleged misuse of their positions. The commander of the Military Police, Colonel Dimas Cavalcante, will also be investigated.
Alagoas247 – The State Public Security Council (Conseg) will investigate a possible misuse of power by military police officers who had been assigned to provide personal security for Representative Antônio Albuquerque (PRTB) and State Court of Auditors (TCE) advisor Rosa Albuquerque, his sister. In parallel, it will also investigate the conduct of the current commander of the Military Police, Colonel Dimas Cavalcante, to understand why he did not forward the text of the inquiry that punished these officers for publication in both the General Operational Bulletin (BGO) and the State Official Gazette (DOE).
The request for the deployment of military personnel was made to the Security Council (Conseg) by the parliamentarian's family after the attack on Antônio Albuquerque's son, Nivaldo Albuquerque, which occurred in 2012. The congressman and his sister claimed to fear further attacks by criminals and therefore requested the reinforcement of one police officer for each of them.
It came to the attention of the councilors that the military would be carrying out approaches in the city of Limoeiro de Anadia, which would characterize a deviation from the ordered function, which was to provide personal security for the deputy and Rosa Albuquerque. In the ordinary session this Monday (25), the collegiate body discussed this matter and warns that it is seeking answers from the military advisory of the Legislative Assembly, the Court of Auditors and the command of the Military Police of Alagoas.
In addition to questions about the work these police officers were doing, the Conseg (Community Security Council) wants the officers to return to their original locations.
At the time, an internal investigation was launched by the PM command, but it was suggested that the process be shelved. A new investigation was opened and, this time, the investigator's recommendation was for the punishment of the two officers for misuse of their duties. In Monday's vote, it was agreed that the investigative material would be analyzed again by the council members, in addition to the investigation into the conduct of the PM commander, which was proposed by council member Alfredo Gaspar de Mendonça.
The council will also ask the corporation to investigate the conduct of the two heads of the military advisory offices (of the Legislative Assembly and the Court of Auditors), who held this position last year when the incident occurred and the military police officers were transferred. According to the Security Council, the police officer who was assigned to the Legislative Branch has already returned.
