Chaos at the Palace ends with teachers injured.
Striking teachers and members of the Civil Guard, who provide security for the City Hall, clashed on Thursday, resulting in injuries. Teacher Dalva Fátima, one of the leaders of the union leading the strike, suffered a head injury and was taken to the hospital. City Hall employees were present and decided to continue the strike; to protest, they began occupying the building's corridors when the conflict with Civil Guard officers occurred.
Goiás 247 - Striking teachers and members of the Civil Guard, who provide security for the City Hall, clashed on Thursday, resulting in injuries. Teacher Dalva Fátima, one of the leaders of the union in charge of the strike, Simsed, suffered a head injury and was taken to the hospital.
The civil servants were at the City Hall and decided to continue the strike. To protest, they began occupying the corridors of the city hall building when a conflict arose with members of the Civil Guard. Some officers used pepper spray, and even members of the press were affected, and teachers were hit on the head with batons.
Mayor Paulo Garcia (PT) is unable to reach an agreement with the public employees, and the strike has now entered its 10th day. More than 200 schools are closed.
