Paulo César's confession deepens the crisis in the opposition.

Goiás 247_ State Representative Paulo Cezar Martins (PMDB) admitted that he withdrew his signatures from the creation of Parliamentary Commissions of Inquiry (CPIs) targeting the state government. The news broke on Tuesday night and worsens the crisis within the PMDB party.

The search for "traitors" was intense within the party that, along with the PT (Workers' Party), was attempting to create the first uprising against the government in 2013. Paulo Cezar's confession exposed the lack of unity within the opposition and the difficulty the group has in devising strategies against Marconi Perillo.

The appearance of the first traitor was a topic of discussion on social media, and party members, supporters, and leaders want Paulo Cezar Martins punished. "The Party cannot be held responsible for the deputy's weakness, however, it cannot remain silent in this sad episode," wrote Kid Neto, Secretary-General of the PMDB, on Twitter.

"As a member of the PMDB party, the least I expect is a reprimand from the Executive Committee, to which Representative Paulo Cezar belongs," Kid added.

Congresswoman Iris de Araújo also spoke out on Twitter. She was one of those who most strongly demanded confessions from the traitors and had been calling for severe punishment. "I agree that the seriousness of the matter demands firm action from those responsible."

"Deputies. They are representatives of the people and as such they must react," wrote Don Iris in a tweet addressed to Kid Neto. The expectation now is on what the punishment for Paulo Cezar Martins will be. Furthermore, there is the search for the other traitor. Behind the scenes, opposition deputies point to Simeyzon (PSC) as a supposed traitor. Deputy Luiz Carlos do Carmo (PMDB) has already stated that he only signed the Security CPI.

Even Caiado gave his opinion.
Despite being a federal deputy for the DEM party, Ronaldo Caiado decided to comment on the PMDB betrayal case. The congressman said that not even in the Bible is betrayal forgiven and advocated for punishment for Paulo Cezar Martins.
