We know that every day is a day for selling. But July is a special month; the 16th is Merchant's Day. For some, the word translates to an individual with a gift for commerce, and in the business world, an intermediary between the producer and the consumer. For others, a merchant is considered an experienced negotiator for buying and selling.

With or without a crisis, the merchant survives on the profits from sales. In many cases, the family works together in the business, with persistence and a focus on results.

To maximize your results from now on, I present seven powerful tips for you to reflect on and apply, in your personal life and in business.

1 º Take risks: fear of losing prevents us from winning. Taking risks with planning is part of entrepreneurship, regardless of your business segment or field of activity.

2 º Commitment and persistence: obstacles appear and many give up along the way. Having commitment and persistence towards your goals is one of the factors for survival and growth. Jump, dodge and remove the obstacles in your path, go until you reach your goals and don't let anything stop your dream.

3 º Open mind to new ideas: the world changes and so do consumers. It's necessary to innovate and seek out new things to keep customers loyal. For many business owners, change is chaotic, but it's necessary in the business world. For example, keeping up with consumer needs and changes, this year I launched a lecture on WhatsApp: how to sell more and faster. Customers no longer want to receive phone calls; they want to receive intelligent messages via WhatsApp. What was the last innovation or change you made in your business?

4 º Curiosity: ask questions, research, do different things. Curiosity maximizes creativity and helps in the business world. When was the last time you went to a new restaurant? Watched a French film? Or tried a dish you hadn't tasted before?

5 º Qualification: Be prepared to face the challenges of the world, study and read about diverse subjects. What was the last lecture you attended? What was the last book you read? When was the last time you Googled "how to sell more even during a crisis"? Think differently, do differently, to make a difference!

6 º Intrinsic motivation: we want to help others, family and friends who need motivation. But we forget that to help others, we need to be motivated ourselves. Internal motivation, your own motivation, is the fuel for your success. Think about it!

7 º Do it yourself, don't wait for others to do it: believe in your potential, you want it, you can do it! Get out from behind the counter, go out there and make it happen. Fear is one of the biggest obstacles to achieving our goals. Because of the fear of something that doesn't yet exist, we stop doing things and wait for others to do them. Go, with or without fear, but go! I believe in you, believe in yourself, you too.
