How to be an entrepreneur without professional stagnation?
It's common for some entrepreneurs to hesitate about investing in the franchise market because they don't see great opportunities for professional growth within the sector; however, for many, this scenario is far from reality. This is the case of former banker Márcio Range, who joined the Empada Brasil network in 2002 and is currently the brand's Master Franchisee in the state of São Paulo; “If the entrepreneur invests in a solid, tested and approved network, it only depends on him and a good commercial location to build the future he desires. To do this, he must acquire as much experience and knowledge about the brand as possible and not fall into the trap of the comfort zone,” he warns.
247 - It's common for some entrepreneurs to hesitate about investing in the franchise market because they don't see great opportunities for professional growth within the sector. But for many, this scenario is far from reality. This is the case of former banker Márcio Range, who joined the Empada Brasil network in 2002 and is currently the brand's Master Franchisee in the state of São Paulo.
Rangel decided to venture into entrepreneurship by opening a franchise unit and became a master developer for the state of São Paulo. "I was delighted by the quality of the empanadas and the simplicity of the network's operation. I decided to take on this challenge and pursue new opportunities within the brand," he says.
According to the entrepreneur, regardless of the field of activity, to build a career within franchise It is essential that the franchisee has in-depth knowledge of how the business operates.
"When you have your own business, you want it to succeed. To achieve that, you get involved in operations, listen to your customers, assist employees, and gain experience. Only after this daily experience is it possible to develop the necessary skills to keep moving forward," explains Rangel. "This experience was fundamental for me to further develop skills such as time management, strategic vision, and managerial maturity," he says.
Five years after starting his journey in the network, he took over the state operation in São Paulo alongside his partner Antônio Matta, which today has more than 20 units of the network. To achieve this milestone, the entrepreneur invested in creating a regional office and, most importantly, a central production and distribution center for savory snacks. This allowed him to more efficiently prospect and meet the demands of his franchisees.
According to Rangel, there is no great secret to success in the franchise market. “If the entrepreneur invests in a solid, tested and approved network, it only depends on them and a good commercial location to build the future they desire. To do this, they must acquire as much experience and knowledge about the brand as possible and not fall into the trap of the comfort zone,” he warns.
With so much dedication and commitment, the result couldn't be any different. Empada Brasil has been growing steadily and sustainably. The outlook for 2017 is quite optimistic. The plan is to open 12 new units in the state of São Paulo alone. “We offer a business with low investment, a differentiated product, affordable prices for the consumer, and a very simplified operation. Franchisees who dedicate themselves to the business can be very successful and grow along with the network. That's how it was for me, and I'm sure it can be for anyone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and make the business work,” concludes Rangel.
