Alagoas247 - The State Secretariat for Resocialization and Social Inclusion (Seris) has established an administrative disciplinary process commission to investigate possible assaults on an inmate at the Maximum Security Prison in Girau do Ponciano. Three employees of the department will be responsible for the investigation. The assaults allegedly occurred on the 30th of last month.
Ediane Nunes Pinheiro, Sheila Félix da Silva and Pierre Ferreira Barboza were appointed this Wednesday (9), through the State Official Gazette, to carry out investigative work at the unit, following allegations of torture that occurred inside the prison, which is managed by a third-party company.
The locksmith Paulo Moisés da Silva, 28, was allegedly tortured for two consecutive days by a group of 12 employees of the company Reviver. The inmate is imprisoned on charges of kidnapping and raping a 5-year-old girl in front of her brother in Palmeira dos Índios. He has already been transferred to a prison in Maceió.
According to the company Reviver, the twelve employees who were allegedly involved in the torture have already been fired, and if torture is proven, they will be prosecuted and held criminally responsible for the case.
