With the support of 16 parties, Amorim launches his candidacy.
Senator Eduardo Amorim was officially announced on Monday night (30) as a candidate for governor of Sergipe by the PSC; the launch of his candidacy took place at Espaço Emes, in Aracaju; until 20:30 pm, the group had not yet announced who will be the candidate for vice-governor; Senator Maria do Carmo (DEM), who is part of the ticket, will run for re-election; businessman Augusto Franco Neto, from PSDB, was chosen as vice-governor.
Sergipe 247 - Senator Eduardo Amorim was officially announced on Monday night (30) as a candidate for governor of Sergipe by the PSC. In addition to his party, he will have the support of 15 other parties. The launch of his candidacy took place at Espaço Emes, in Aracaju. Until 20:30 pm, the group had not yet announced who would be the candidate for vice-governor, information that was only released at the end of the night. The chosen one was businessman Augusto Franco Neto (PSDB). Senator Maria do Carmo (DEM), who is part of the ticket, will run for re-election.
The "Now It's Us" coalition is composed of the PSC, DEM, PTB, PR, PP, PV, PTN, PTC, PSL, SDD, PT do B, PPS, PMN, PHS, PSDB, and PEN parties. "Our priority is health, followed by education, and finally security," said Amorim. "I accept the mission of being a candidate for governor of Sergipe to change, to do more and better, to do things differently and, above all, to do them well," he added.
Senator Maria do Carmo made a similar speech, saying that she would prioritize health, education, children, and women in a possible new term. "These were recurring themes throughout our term. We intend to continue with these causes, which I consider priorities and of extreme importance to society," Maria stated.
"Augusto Franco Neto is a qualified figure, and the PSDB of Sergipe feels honored to be able to contribute even more to this project," said the president of the state directorate of the PSDB, Roberto Goes.
Augusto's nomination also had the endorsement of Senator Aécio Neves, the PSDB candidate for president of the Republic. "Senator Aécio Neves participated in the conversation and congratulated the state directorate on the nomination, as well as Senator Eduardo Amorim for the welcome," said Roberto. Augusto Franco Neto is the son of former state deputy Walter Franco, brother of the president of PSDB-Mulher, Grace Franco, and nephew of the former governor of Sergipe and former senator Albano Franco.
