Charges for extensive investigation into Delta

Senator Jarbas Vasconcelos (PMDB-PE), in a speech this Wednesday (23), in the National Congress, demanded support from the PT for a complete investigation into the Delta Construction Company, including summoning the company's owner, Fernando Cavendish, to the Cachoeira CPI.

Raphael Coutinho _PE247 – Senator Jarbas Vasconcelos (PMDB-PE) took to the floor of Congress this Wednesday (23) to call on the PT and other government parties to support a broad and complete investigation into Construtora Delta. The day before, the racketeer Carlinhos Cachoeira, summoned by the Joint Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPMI), refused to answer the parliamentarians' questions.

"The Workers' Party of the past would have advocated for a broad investigation, encompassing all projects across the country, to ensure there was no doubt about the integrity of the company and the government. I believe that a large portion of Brazilians would wish that the Workers' Party would regain that combative and, above all, vigilant spirit of yesteryear," the senator ironically remarked.

Another fact mentioned by Jarbas was the proven link between the Carlinhos Cachoeira scheme and Delta. For him, summoning the owner of the construction company, Fernando Cavendish, by the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPMI) is inevitable. According to the senator, the businessman admitted, in the only interview in which he spoke about the accusations, that he would testify before a parliamentary commission of inquiry. "Therefore, it is at least suspicious that the PT and the government's support base do not support this summons," said Jarbas.

Finally, the congressman stated that the National Congress needs to be attentive to the acquisition of Construtora Delta by the J&F Participações Group. “This operation needs complete transparency, as it was carried out in record time and involves individuals and companies with ties to the Government,” he pointed out. The first of these ties is the fact that J&F is headed by Henrique Meirelles, former president of the Central Bank.
