The Court of Justice of the Federal District and Territories (TJDFT) sentenced, this Thursday (28), Sebastião Tomé Gomes, 61 years old
247 - The Court of Justice of the Federal District and Territories (TJDFT) sentenced, this Thursday (28), Sebastião Tomé Gomes, 61, father of Palmeiras striker Felipe Anderson, to 14 years in prison for running over and killing two people in Santa Maria, in the Federal District. The case was revealed by Metropolis and involves jealousy, betrayal, and the death of a victim who had nothing to do with the conflict.
According to the complaint, in the early morning of January 12, 2015, Sebastião deliberately pursued motorcyclist Bruno Santos da Silva, then 30 years old, because of a romantic dispute. The car he was driving pinned Bruno's motorcycle against the wall of a house. The collision caused the vehicle to enter the property and hit the bedroom of Noêmia Caldeira Gomes, 61, who was sleeping there. She died instantly.
Bruno also succumbed to his injuries. Both lost their lives in an episode marked by threats and emotional turmoil. The woman at the center of the love triangle was identified as Salmeriza Alves Pugas, who had relationships with both Sebastião and Bruno.
Trial history
Sebastião had already been convicted in 2023, but the defense managed to overturn the sentence and secure a new jury trial, held in August 2025. The new decision confirmed the defendant's guilt, who had been awaiting trial while free since 2015.
At the time of the crime, Sebastião claimed that he did not intend to kill. "[It was] an accident, the road ended, there was a fork in the road…", he stated in his testimony.
Conversations revealed
The investigations uncovered messages exchanged between Sebastião and Salmeriza in the early hours of the crime. The dialogues reveal the tense atmosphere and the defendant's intention to confront him. He even said things like: "I'm going to get a gun," "I'm going to shoot him," and "I'm going to call some friends." At another point, he asked: "Is the cuckold there?", referring to Bruno.
At 2:05 AM, Sebastião sent another message to his wife: “We are armed to the teeth.” A little over an hour later, at 3:11 AM, he sent another message: “I killed him.” This time coincides with the fatal hit-and-run.
Impact on football
At the time, Felipe Anderson, then a player for Lazio in Italy, avoided making a public statement. Through his press office, he only stated that he was shaken by the tragedy involving his father. The attacking midfielder, who started his career at Santos, had an international career playing for clubs such as West Ham in England and Porto in Portugal, before returning to Brazil to play for Palmeiras in 2024.
