So far, the storms in the region have caused the death of two people: José Lindomar da Silva, in the municipality of Jacutinga, and Eracildo Luiz Assmann, in Arroio do Tigre. Paula Thon, 23 years old, remains missing in Arroio do Tigre, where firefighters are conducting searches.

The expectation – based on the weather forecast for the next five days and the report from the Department of Water Resources of Rio Grande do Sul – is that the level of the Uruguay River in the region of São Borja, Itaqui and Uruguaiana will gradually decrease.
