Heavy rains cause disruption and leave one dead in Recife.

The heavy rains that have been falling on Recife since Sunday night (29) have left a child dead due to a landslide and caused many problems for the population; according to the Pernambuco Water and Climate Agency (Apac), at 5 am the Metropolitan Region of Recife accumulated a volume of 118 millimeters in just six hours, corresponding to 35,97% of the historical monthly average, which is 328 mm; the forecast is that they will continue for the next 24 hours.

According to the Pernambuco Water and Climate Agency (Apac), at 5 am the Metropolitan Region of Recife accumulated a volume of 118 millimeters in just six hours, corresponding to 35,97% of the historical monthly average, which is 328 mm.

In the Dois Unidos neighborhood, in the northern part of the Pernambuco capital, a landslide resulted in the death of a 4-year-old child. The landslide affected the bedrooms, living room, and bathroom of the house where she lived with her family.

APAC reported that the rains are expected to continue for the next 24 hours and issued an alert to the population of the Recife Metropolitan Region and the Zona da Mata region regarding the risk of rainfall exceeding 30mm.
