The rain over the last two days in Rio Grande do Sul has affected nearly 1,6 people, leaving 1.348 displaced and 245 homeless; according to the State Civil Defense, families who had to leave their homes went to relatives' residences or to public shelters; the rural area was also affected and a bridge connecting the cities of Cruzaltense and Campinas do Sul is closed.

The rain over the last two days in Rio Grande do Sul has affected nearly 1,6 people, leaving 1.348 displaced and 245 homeless, according to the State Civil Defense. Thirty municipalities were affected, mainly in the north of the state.
The affected cities are Cruzaltense, Barão do Cotegipe, Getúlio Vargas, Erechim, Erval Grande, Marcelino Ramos, Barra do Rio Azul, Maximiliano de Almeida, Ponte Preta, Nonoai, Viadutos, Caiçara, Campo Novo, Tenente Portela, Jaboticaba, Palmitinho, Pinheirinho do Vale, Cristal do Sul, Cerro Grande, Iraí, Novo Tiradentes, Alpestre, Barra do Guarita, Vicente Dutra, Nova Candelária, Três de Maio, Novo Machado, Porto Vera Cruz, Porto Mauá, and Unistalda.

The towns of Rincão do Pavanelo, Rincão de Nazaré, Cantina Vermelha and Itu Mirim, in the municipality of Unistalda, were hit by a gale followed by hail, on Wednesday night (25). The region had more than 20 homes affected, according to Civil Defense.
According to the National Institute of Meteorology, conditions this Friday (27) are favorable for the occurrence of rain, from moderate to heavy, with large accumulated volumes and wind gusts between 60 and 90 kilometers per hour in isolated areas in the north of Rio Grande do Sul.
