Bahia 247 - In the coming months, executives from several Chinese companies, mainly in the automotive and heavy machinery sectors, will arrive in Bahia to assess the possibility of establishing themselves in the state and to advance negotiations with the Bahian government.

The visit of the executives was confirmed by Governor Jaques Wagner (PT), who has been in China since last Friday (24), in meetings in the cities of Beijing, Chongqing and Hong Kong, with companies interested in expanding their business abroad.

On a trade mission that began in Japan on the 18th, where he visited the Kawasaki shipyard and met with professionals from Bahia who are receiving training from the company in that country, Wagner presented the investment potential in Bahia to the companies of the Kawasaki Group (Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. –KHI) – one of the four shareholders and technological partner of the Enseada do Paraguaçu Shipyard (EEP), located in Maragojipe, in the Recôncavo Baiano region.

According to the governor, who also met with the president of the Kawasaki Group, Shigeru Murayama, the executives expressed interest in expanding investments in the state by attracting companies that supply equipment to the Bahian shipbuilding industry. KHI comprises approximately 100 companies in Japan and around the globe, which together form one of the largest business, industrial, and technological groups in the world.

Today (27), Governor Wagner leaves China for the African country of Ethiopia, where, tomorrow (28) in the capital Addis Ababa, he will participate in the African Union Forum. At the forum, a report prepared during the Africa and the African Diaspora Meeting (EADA), held in November of last year, in Costa do Sauípe, Bahia, will be delivered to the African Union as a proposal for the formulation of the 'Africa 2063 Agenda'.

The governor will arrive in Salvador next Wednesday (29).
