CBF establishes changes to the football calendar for 2014 and 2015.

247 - The Brazilian Football Confederation announced, this Wednesday (10), in a meeting with a commission of clubs formed by Coritiba, Corinthians, Flamengo, Goiás, Portuguesa and Vitória, changes in the Brazilian football calendar. The teams will now play a maximum of seven games per month. The State Championships will have four fewer dates in 2014. From 2015 onwards, all players will be entitled to 30 days of vacation and there will be no games in national competitions in January.

The meeting was attended by President José Maria Marin, Vice President Marco Polo Del Nero, and presidents Vilson de Andrade (Coritiba), Alexi Portela (Vitória), Eduardo Bandeira de Mello (Flamengo), Mario Gobbi (Corinthians), João Bosco de Morais (Goiás), and Ilidio Lico (Portuguesa).

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) stated, however, that the limit of seven games per month may be exceeded by teams competing in the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final of the Copa do Brasil and Copa Libertadores. The clubs' commission also presented several proposals, which will be discussed at a meeting to be scheduled with the Ministries of Sports and Finance, and the Federal Revenue Service, to negotiate Fiscal and Financial Fair Play. The teams' aim is to reach an agreement to settle debts. Furthermore, the group wants changes regarding the payment of salaries for injured players and the definition of performance-based pay.
