Pernambuco 247 - Singer Diogo Nogueira called for the release of former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva this Wednesday (25), during a show at the Garanhuns Winter Festival, in the Pernambuco countryside. "Free Lula," the samba singer exclaimed.

Even in prison, the former president leads all election polls. A CUT/Vox Populi survey, released this Thursday (26), points to Lula winning in the first round with 58% of valid votes. 

In the simulated scenario, when the candidates' names are presented to the respondents, the former president's voting intentions increased to 41%, compared to 39% recorded in May.

According to the research, the sum of all other opponents reached 29%. In second place is Jair Bolsonaro (PSL), with 12%, followed by Ciro Gomes (PDT), who reached 5%. Marina Silva (Rede) fell from 6% to 4%, tying with Geraldo Alckmin (PSDB), who also registered only 4%.see more here).

Statistics also showed that the percentage of people who consider Lula the best president Brazil has ever had increased from 46% in May to 48% in July, and the percentage who see the former president's conviction and imprisonment as politically motivated rose from 52% to 53%.
