Candidate for city councilman from the PRB party is arrested for attempted theft.

Eduardo Caetano dos Santos, a 35-year-old candidate for city councilor for the PRB party, was one of three people arrested in the act of committing aggravated theft at a bank branch in the Pinheiros neighborhood, in the western part of São Paulo city. Santos is part of the "Honesty and Competence" coalition and will be running for a seat on the Vargem Grande Paulista City Council, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo. He was to appear on the ballot as "Bolinha." The president of the party's municipal directorate, José Francisco Teixeira, said that the party has requested the cancellation of Santos' candidacy and that the suspect will be expelled from the party.

SP 247 - The candidate for city councilor for PRB, Eduardo Caetano dos Santos, 35 years old, was one of the three arrested in flagrante delicto for aggravated theft at a bank branch this Sunday (21), in the Pinheiros neighborhood, in the west zone of the capital of São Paulo. Santos is part of the "Honesty and Competence" coalition and will compete for a seat in the Vargem Grande Paulista City Council, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo. He would appear on the ballot as "Bolinha".

In addition to Santos, Flávio Augusto Batista de Almeida, 31, and Weverton Eduardo Souza Rezende, 22, were arrested. The Military Police seized two vehicles used by the group and items used during the operation. 

According to the police, bank employees noticed suspicious activity involving men inside the bank through security cameras and called the police. The officers found that the lock cylinder had been changed on a door leading to the back of the ATMs. The alarm was deactivated.

In a report published in Estadão, the president of the PRB's municipal board, José Francisco Teixeira, said that the party has already requested the cancellation of Santos' candidacy and that the suspect will be expelled from the party. "The party has already taken all appropriate measures, and it's important to say that the PRB does not condone any illegal action that could harm the party's image," says Teixeira. "For us, it was a surprise. He was the one who approached us to be a pre-candidate."
