Campos reacts strongly to Dilma's criticism.
The governor of Pernambuco and potential presidential candidate in 2014, Eduardo Campos, reacted vehemently to President Dilma's statements, in which she described as frivolous the criticisms of the government's economic policy; "Do you think it's forbidden for us to discuss? Is it forbidden to give an opinion or suggest how things can be done? At the same time, we are helping, putting in projects to generate employment and stimulate the economy," he said.
PE247 - The governor of Pernambuco and potential candidate for President of the Republic for the PSB in 2014, Eduardo Campos, reacted vehemently to the statement made by President Dilma Rousseff (PT) against those who criticize the conduct of economic policy by the Federal Government. "Do you think it's forbidden for us to discuss? Is it forbidden to give an opinion or suggest how it can be done? At the same time, we are helping, putting in works to generate employment and stimulate the economy," said Campos. The governor's statements were made this Thursday (13), shortly after the announcement of two emergency care units (UPAs) in Recife, according to the Blog do Jamildo.
Campos has consistently criticized the economic policies of Dilma's government, particularly regarding the fight against inflation and the need to resume economic growth, among other issues such as the revision of the federal pact. The governor's comment followed a speech given by the president during the launch of the "My Home Better" program, when she compared critics to the character Velho do Restelo, from Luís de Camões's novel.
"The Old Man of Restelo used to say: 'It won't work, it won't work...'. Well, I wanted to say to all Brazilians: there is absolutely no possibility that my government will not have a policy of controlling and combating inflation." The president also called critics of the economic policy "frivolous." "Political frivolity is serious because it doesn't affect the individual, it affects a country." According to Dilma, both inflation and public finances are under control.
