Campos wants to avoid a "street fight" with Dilma and the PT.

The governor of Pernambuco and pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic for the PSB party, Eduardo Campos, once again criticized the economic management of President Dilma Rousseff's (PT) government and advocated for a new political cycle for the country; despite the constant exchanges of barbs between the two parties, Campos avoided mentioning Dilma's name and stated that he did not want "the debate about Brazil to degenerate into street fights"; Dilma, a few days ago, labeled the critics of the PT administration as "shameless"; Campos also avoided commenting on a possible candidacy of former president Lula in October.

Pernambuco 247 - The governor of Pernambuco and pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic for the PSB party, Eduardo Campos, once again criticized the economic management of President Dilma Rousseff's (PT) government and advocated for a new political cycle for the country. Despite the constant exchanges of barbs between the two parties, Campos avoided mentioning Dilma's name and stated that he did not want "the debate about Brazil to degenerate into street fights," referring to a speech made by the president a few days ago when she called critics of the PT administration "shameless." He also avoided commenting on a possible candidacy of former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in the October elections.

According to Campos, who this Friday (14) participated in the opening of the PPS national board meeting in Brasília, the social and economic achievements obtained by the country in recent years are threatened by the lack of direction of the current administration. "The situation is deteriorating every day," said the socialist. "We are beginning to live in a time when Brazil has slowed down and the feeling that is passed on to Brazilian society is that we have stopped and that Brazil has interrupted a cycle in which people perceived, with successes and failures, that we were accumulating achievements," he stated. "The administration that is in power is now in its fourth year. We realize that nothing has changed from what we have experienced since 2011," he added.

He also reiterated his condemnation of the government's allocation of positions to allied parties. "Everyone wants a ministry, a little box to call their own, while society wants the opposite," he exclaimed.

The governor also indicated that the strategy agreed upon with the PSDB party, to avoid confrontations with the Minas Gerais senator and presidential candidate Aécio Neves, is already underway. Campos praised the politician, saying he is a politician of "great quality." Campos and Aécio are trying to secure mutual support in the event of a possible second round against Dilma, who is seeking re-election.

Regarding rumors that former President Lula could replace President Dilma in the presidential race, Campos preferred not to comment on the possibility. "We are not discussing the candidacy of other parties. We are currently discussing the thinking and proposals of these parties that are meeting – PPS, PSB, and Rede – to present Brazil with an alternative," he noted.
