ELECTORAL ROAD SHOW
The governor of Pernambuco, Eduardo Campos (PSB-PE), is expected to arrive in São Paulo next week for a dinner with São Paulo business leaders. He will be received at the home of Flávio Rocha, of Riachuelo and president of IDV (Institute for Retail Development).
ROAD SHOW 2
Rocha's dinners have become a tradition. His home has hosted ministers, governors, and presidential candidates for private meetings with businesspeople and bankers. It was there that Ciro Gomes, for example, presented his ideas to representatives of the GDP when he ran for election in 2002. Campos is a pre-candidate to succeed Dilma Rousseff in 2014.
HAPPINESS
And a PSB leader holding an executive position makes the calculation: to make a presidential campaign viable, a candidate needs to have at least "ten major money donors." The PT and PSDB, with their federal and state government machines like those in São Paulo and Minas Gerais, would have a significant advantage in this regard.
IN MINAS
Regarding the PSB: Dilma Rousseff is expected to meet with Marcio Lacerda, mayor of Belo Horizonte and a leading figure in Campos' party, in Brasília. She will also travel to the Minas Gerais capital in April to inaugurate housing projects alongside him. The president has been paying special attention to the socialists. She has already met with Cid Gomes, governor of Ceará, and visited construction sites with Wilson Martins, governor of Piauí.
