Campos denies exchanging barbs with Dilma.

Leonardo Lucena and Paulo Emílio_PE247 – After President Dilma Rousseff (PT) praised the role of the Federal Government in the large-scale investments being made in megaprojects in the State, such as the Abreu e Lima refinery and the Atlântico Sul Shipyard (EAS), this Monday (25), in Serra Talhada, in the Sertão region, allies of the Governor of Pernambuco, Eduardo Campos (PSB), praised the State Government. Both the Secretary of the Civil House, Tadeu Alencar (PSB) and the President of the Legislative Assembly (Alepe), Guilherme Uchôa, understand that the political articulation combined with the administrative competence of the manager were and will continue to be decisive for the growth of the Pernambuco economy. The governor, during a World Cup event in Recife, said his party has always had a tradition of collaborating on collective political projects, regardless of personal relationships, and denied that he and the president had sent veiled messages to each other.

During the event in the Sertão region of the state, the head of the Federal Executive, in partnership with the Minister of National Integration, Fernando Bezerra Coelho, also announced investments of R$ 3,1 billion for the state, highlighting the Northeast Railway Integration project, which will connect the Transnordestina railway in the municipality of Parnamirim (Ceará) to the Centro-Atlântica (FCA) railway network in Petrolina, passing through Juazeiro, Bahia, and then crossing the interior of Pernambuco until reaching the Bahian capital, Salvador. "Finally, the Federal Government has fulfilled a long-standing request from Pernambuco, which needs the train to transport its production, boost the economy of the interior, and continue growing," stated the president.

The announcement was interpreted as a way for the president to corner Campos, giving him no reason to abandon the government. If this happens, the pretext he alleges could be anything except some kind of retaliation from the federal government. Dilma also demanded a show of loyalty by saying she needs everyone's support for a coalition project, meaning that the PSB must remain in the government's base and support her reelection project.

Secretary Tadeu Alencar does not interpret Dilma's stance as a way to diminish Eduardo Campos' prestige in the state, but rather praises the governor's administration. "We recognize (the collaboration), but we are clear that without the great capacity for work and execution of the State Government and the political articulation, led by Eduardo Campos, these resources would not, by themselves, have propelled Pernambuco's growth away from the rest of the country," he declared, according to Folha de Pernambuco columnist Renata Bezerra de Melo.

State Representative and President of the Legislative Assembly of Pernambuco (Alepe), Guilherme Uchôa (PDT), also defended Governor Eduardo Campos. “The announced funds are coming to Pernambuco because he has behind him a governor who organizes and plans, who has managed to unite Pernambuco around a single cause. And if the Federal Government wants to release more, there will be projects to receive these funds,” the legislator noted.

The governor, during an event held Tuesday morning in Recife, countered the accusations, saying that neither he nor Dilma had sent veiled messages to each other. "I say things completely, and she says things completely," Campos stated. According to him, "it has been a tradition of the PSB, of our political formation, to focus on projects, values, and ideas. Our commitment is to the people, to a national project. Commitments to individuals are typical of personal relationships. Political commitments are collective and to the people," he declared.
