Campos says he wants jail for "old foxes"
In his first speech in Pernambuco after the official start of the presidential campaign, candidate Eduardo Campos (PSB) once again attacked the governing coalition of President Dilma Rousseff (PT), his opponent in the race for the presidency. According to Campos, the alliance is "conservative, backward, and patrimonialist," and it is necessary that some of the "old foxes who have been robbing Brazil for a long time go into opposition, and some of them go to jail." He also attacked President Dilma, saying that she needs to "stop hiding behind her marketing strategist."
Pernambuco 247 - In his first speech in Pernambuco after the official start of the presidential campaign, candidate Eduardo Campos (PSB) once again attacked the governing coalition of President Dilma Rousseff (PT), his opponent in the race for the presidency. According to Campos, the alliance is "conservative, backward, and patrimonialist." For the socialist, it is necessary that some of the "old foxes who have been robbing Brazil for a long time go into opposition and some of them go to jail." Campos also attacked President Dilma, saying that she needs to "stop hiding behind her marketing strategist."
"Pernambuco will see a son of this land ascend that ramp (of the Planalto Palace) to honor Brazilian history, to put Brazil back on track, to make Brazil grow, to provide timely education for the poor children of Brazil. To make a bunch of old foxes who have been robbing Brazil for a long time go into opposition and some of them go to jail. That's what we're going to do in Brazil," the candidate promised.
Still during his approximately 30-minute speech, Campos said that, if elected, he will hold his victory celebration at Marco Zero in the capital of Pernambuco. "I am happy, I am sure, I am confident. We are going to build the greatest victory that Pernambuco has ever seen," he shouted.
Regarding Paulo Câmara's candidacy, who remains behind Senator Armando Monteiro Neto (PTB) in the polls for Governor of the State, Campos sent a loud and clear message to the proportional candidates who switched from the PSB platform to that of the Labor candidate. "Those who licked a bar of salt will eat coconut candy with ice water," he asserted. He also said he would return to Pernambuco "as many times as necessary" to reinforce Paulo Câmara's campaign.
