An initiative of the Judiciary, which aims to enhance the image of the magistrate, strengthen the performance and importance of the Brazilian judiciary, and the challenge of showing society the power of the ethical choices they can make to combat corruption.

The president of the Brazilian Association of Magistrates (AMB), João Ricardo Costa, will be present at the ceremony. "We want to encourage reflection in society, especially at such a difficult time as the one we are living through. Brazil is going through a serious political and economic crisis, and often we, the judges, are the ones who make certain decisions that can affect the lives of the population," he says. He adds the need to bring the figure of judges closer to the people.

During the opening, children will be invited to participate in decision-making processes. The initiative aims to show that certain choices need to be made from an early age, but that they are not always easy.

João Ricardo states that corruption must be fought daily. "Often, small acts and minor irregularities are not always so innocent, as they lead to the construction of a culture of corruption, which is now being seen throughout the country. Our appeal will also be to show society that situations such as stopping cars on the sidewalk, cutting in line, parking in spaces reserved for the elderly, and double-parking are harmful," says the judge.

The president of the Association of Magistrates of the State of Alagoas (Almagis-AL), Fátima Pirauá, reaffirms the need for the campaign. "We need to show citizens the difficulty judges face in judging the most diverse situations; it's not always easy to make certain choices that require ethics, honesty, and transparency. Magistrates make difficult decisions, as they involve freedom, property, family matters, and that's why we need to bring the population closer to the judge. Nobody loves someone they don't know, and we are always ready to defend the interests and rights of every citizen," she states.
