SP 247 - The strategy of former São Paulo governor Geraldo Alckmin's (PSDB) presidential campaign to use cheering squads to welcome him at airports was not a unanimous decision, as part of the team felt that copying pre-candidate Jair Bolsonaro (PSL) was a mistake – a cheering squad is when professionals are hired to applaud a public figure or event. This information comes from the Estadão newspaper column.

According to members of the PSDB (Brazilian Social Democracy Party) team, the congressman, however, has much less "political savvy" and "charisma." Critics fear a repeat of 2006, when Alckmin wore a jacket with slogans of state-owned companies to try to quell criticism that he would privatize companies.

The first video of Alckmin being greeted with shouts of "president" at airports was released on Wednesday (13) on PSDB's social media. The scene was recorded by the tucano's team upon disembarking at Brasília airport.
