Camilo brings together PT and social movements to discuss the 2018 elections.
Governor Camilo Santana spent Sunday engaging in political maneuvering. Throughout the day, he held meetings with representatives of social movements and with PT (Workers' Party) leaders. In these meetings, Camilo reaffirmed his support for former President Lula, but made clear the concern of the party's governors regarding the implications of the PT's national leadership strategy of not discussing a "Plan B." To the PT, Camilo also reaffirmed his commitment to helping strengthen the party in Ceará, with the expansion of its parliamentary representation in the 2018 elections.
Ceará 247 - Governor Camilo Santana spent the afternoon and evening of this Sunday (20), making political arrangements. Throughout the day he held meetings with representatives of social movements and with PT leaders.
Initially, the governor met with CUT-Ceará, the Landless Workers' Movement (MST), the Movement of People Affected by Dams (MAB), the Workers' Rights Movement (MTD), the Popular Youth Uprising, and Consulta Popular, the main organizations that make up the Popular Brazil Front in Ceará.
After the social movements, he met with the main leaders of the Workers' Party linked to his faction, including federal deputy José Guimarães, state deputy and party president Moisés Braz, and the Secretary of Agrarian Development, Francisco de Assis Diniz, among others. According to De Assis Diniz, the governor received the social movements "for a political conversation."
The final meeting, late at night, was with federal congresswoman Luizianne Lins and state representative Elmano de Freitas.
In the meetings, Camilo reaffirmed his support for former president Lula, but made clear the concern of the party's governors regarding the implications of the PT's national leadership strategy of not discussing "plan B." Camilo also reaffirmed his commitment to the PT to help strengthen the party in Ceará, expanding its parliamentary representation in the 2018 elections. Regarding the Senate issue, one of the main points of internal disagreement within the PT, nothing was decided.

Today (21), the governor is spending the day in the Cariri region, where he is participating in various activities. This morning he is inaugurating the Popular Shopping Center (street market) in Crato. Following that, he will visit some state government works in the region and in the afternoon, he will inaugurate the Ceará Language Center (CCI) in Juazeiro do Norte.
