Ceará 247 - As a reward for good performance in High School and an incentive to continue pursuing higher education courses, students from the state network received the Aprender pra Valer Award this Thursday (24), from the Government of Ceará. The ceremony held at the Ceará Events Center consisted of the delivery of a notebook to each of the 20.155 awardees throughout the State, carried out by Governor Camilo Santana. Also present at the event were the vice-governor, Izolda Cela, and the Secretary of Education, Idilvan Alencar.
The prize, funded by a state investment of R$ 17,1 million, was established by Law 14.483 of 2009, which considers the student's score on the National High School Exam (Enem), or the results achieved in Portuguese Language and Mathematics, according to the Permanent System for the Evaluation of Basic Education in Ceará (Spaece). This Thursday, to represent the more than 20 award winners, one thousand students from the capital were invited. Of the total number of awardees, 5.129 are from Fortaleza.
Camilo Santana believes that the "Learning for Real" Award is a way to recognize the progress that high school students in Ceará have made in recent years. The governor also emphasizes that it is yet another incentive from the Government of Ceará in the pursuit of higher quality public education with a dignified structure for students.
"The volume of computers this year is significant. The program started in its first year (2009) distributing 800 computers. This year there are more than 20. It is a program that stimulates effort and work in Education. The volume of investments has been increasing, not only in the construction of new schools, in equipment, in renovations, implementation in full-time schools, in the careers of education professionals, in the commitment to keep teacher salary adjustments above inflation, and in investing in innovations. We believe that this is the great path to building a better state, with more opportunities and less violence," reinforces the head of the Executive branch.
During the event, the governor participated in the symbolic delivery of a thousand notebooks to students in the capital and also spoke with educators who attended the Ceará Events Center. The remaining computers for students in Fortaleza will be delivered to their schools starting this Friday (25). In the interior of the State, the prizes will be distributed the following week, according to a schedule to be announced later.
