Bahia 247 - A man was arrested on Sunday (7) after selling tickets for Olympic football matches at a price higher than the ticket office price.

According to information from G1, a team from the Military Police was patrolling Avenida Joana Angélica, in Nazaré, near Arena Fonte Nova, and found the man, who, according to the police, was 'acting suspiciously'.

He was approached and the officers found that he was trying to sell four tickets for R$ 560 – at the box office, they would cost R$ 240.

The ticket scalper was taken to the mobile police station set up near the stadium, where the Fiji vs. Mexico and Germany vs. Korea matches took place on Sunday afternoon.

Police seize 15 tickets that were allegedly being sold illegally for the Olympic Games.

Investigative and overt police actions resulted in the seizure of 15 tickets, which were in the hands of scalpers to be sold illegally around the Arena Fonte Nova during the men's football doubleheader at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. They were selling them to fans for almost double the original price. Six people were caught committing the irregularity.

Two people were detained by police units and had a report filed at the Mobile Police Station (bus), which is parked in front of the stadium on game days. Four other people, located by investigators from the Consumer Protection Police Station (Decon), underwent the same type of police registration at the unit's headquarters on Rua Carlos Gomes.

Inside the Arena, police registered a cell phone theft. The victim got up from their seat and forgot the phone on it. When they remembered and returned, the device was gone. Police are already reviewing stadium camera footage to identify and arrest the perpetrator. No more serious crimes (homicide, robbery, etc.) were reported. Approximately 2.500 members of the state security forces (Military Police, Civil Police, Technical Police, and Fire Department) were deployed during the round of matches.
