YAOUNDE, Dec 28 (Reuters) The Cameroonian football federation will send a delegation to Europe in an attempt to convince players of Cameroonian origin to accept the call-up for next year's World Cup in Brazil.

Fecafoot said they are focusing on four players in particular, who have been called up to the French national team at youth levels.

The quartet consists of three 20-year-olds - Axel Ngando, from Auxerre; Samuel Umtiti, from Olympique Lyon; and Jean-Christophe Behebeck, from Valenciennes - in addition to 21-year-old Paul-Georges Ntep de Madiba, also from the French club Auxerre.

"We want to convince them to play for Cameroon, particularly in the World Cup, but also in the future," the federation said in a statement on Friday.

"The idea is to clarify the situation and then request permission from FIFA to change his nationality."

Cameroon will compete in its seventh World Cup and is in Group A, alongside Brazil, Croatia, and Mexico.
