"Today Brazil witnessed popular demonstrations that clearly show the need for adjustments, humility, transparency, and much dialogue. Meanwhile, Representative Mendonça Filho said that the demonstrations exposed the population's revolt against the economic crisis and corruption. "The government cannot pretend that there isn't great dissatisfaction and anger among Brazilians regarding this situation. The president must acknowledge her mistakes and apologize to the population for the electoral fraud," he stated.
According to the Democrat, the demonstrations will have repercussions in Congress. "Certainly, the government will have much more difficulty passing measures that increase taxes and cut social benefits, such as labor rights," he noted.
