Camaçari: PTN joins Caetano's pre-candidacy.
The National Labor Party (PTN) has declared its support for the pre-candidacy of federal deputy Luiz Caetano (PT) for mayor of Camaçari; the official declaration of support came from former Detran director Maurício Bacelar, who in 2012 was a mayoral candidate on the opposition ticket to the current mayor, Ademar Delgado, Caetano's candidate; a former staunch opponent, Bacelar said that, "although he wants to be mayor of Camaçari," he sees in Caetano "the ideal profile to recover the city, which has been completely dilapidated in recent years."
Bahia 247 - The National Labor Party (PTN) has declared its support for the pre-candidacy of federal deputy Luiz Caetano (PT) for mayor of Camaçari. In the 2012 election, the municipal president of the PTN, Maurício Bacelar, received 43% of the valid votes as a mayoral candidate. The difference between him and the winner, the current mayor, Ademar Delgado, was 7.070 votes.
At an event on Thursday (9), Bacelar said that, "although he wants to be mayor of Camaçari", he sees in Caetano "the ideal profile to recover the city, which has been completely dilapidated in recent years".
"Undeniably, Caetano is the one who has all the conditions to resume the city's development; he is the one who has the full capacity to restore pride and joy to our people. Caetano is the best for Camaçari. Above any disagreement is Camaçari; it is our city, and in the state it is in, it needs us to be united so that our people can smile again," said Bacelar, a former staunch opponent of Caetano.
Also present at the event, the president of the PTN in Bahia, federal deputy João Carlos Bacelar, highlighted "Caetano's history of work and achievements."
"Although my pre-candidate is the 'Sympathy of Bahia,' the issue here is not about sympathy. The issue is the struggle and commitment to the people, which has guided Caetano's entire life story. That's why we are with him and will work as hard as, or even harder than, the PT to elect him in October."
"Visibly moved," Caetano stated that "the PTN's support for the project he leads brings together the best of two great forces working towards the city's renewed growth."
"Even in 2012, when we were opponents, I already observed the quality of the PTN's government program, the good ideas they brought to the city, so I am very happy to receive this support." However, in addition to the proposals that Maurício brought, Camaçari needs to undergo a process of qualification in Science, Technology and Innovation. We also need to end the health crisis; build a project for efficient public security and invest in education. In other words: this is the election of proposals, of projects. That's what we're doing now: combining the best of two great projects," said the former mayor.
