Social and psycho-pedagogical support is intended for children and young people with learning difficulties or mental health problems who are enrolled in the municipal education system. The initiative aims to supplement and complement the educational services offered to students.

Among the services and actions that will be developed are welcoming and informing students and their families, referrals for enrollment in regular schools and specialized educational support centers and services, and referrals to health and social assistance services.

Organization

The CRIE (Center for Reference and Support for Children and Adolescents) is located in the Vargas Leal building, on Francisco Drumond street, and has five consulting rooms (two for technical assistance and three for specific assistance), an auditorium, a triage reception area, adapted restrooms, study rooms with teaching materials and a welcoming area. The space also has three parking spaces, all adapted, ramps, tactile paving and wide doors for wheelchair users.

To receive services from CRIE, it is necessary to contact the pedagogical service of the school where the student is enrolled, so that the coordinator can make the referral. Services will be provided in the opposite shift from regular classes, divided into groups that address the special needs of students, such as those with hearing impairments, for example.
