Calmon announces affiliation with the PSB of Campos.
The former inspector general of the National Council of Justice (CNJ) is already distributing invitations for Thursday's ceremony, which will formalize her joining Governor Eduardo Campos' party; Marina Silva requested the minister's support and said that her affiliation is temporary; Calmon will run for a Senate seat in 2014.
247 - Supreme Court Justice Eliana Calmon is already sending out invitations for her PSB party affiliation ceremony.
Two days after presidential candidate Eduardo Campos posted a message on Facebook announcing his affiliation, Marina Silva did the same last Friday. "[Eliana Calmon] is currently making a political affiliation with Rede and a democratic and temporary affiliation with PSB," Marina wrote.
The minister then decided to sign a symbolic endorsement of the Rede party and, on Thursday, at a large event scheduled in Salvador, officially join the PSB to run for a seat in the Senate.
Last week, she bid farewell to the 1st Section (a meeting of two panels), specializing in public law. In thanking her colleagues for their greetings, Eliana Calmon spoke of nostalgia and a new beginning. "Life is a book, and we keep turning the pages. When I turn a page, I feel a lot of nostalgia, but at the same time, I'm excited to continue reading the next page," she stated.
