Number of violent crimes falls in Minas Gerais

Mines 247 - The Capital Policing Command (CPC) released a report on Tuesday (22) indicating a 53,7% drop in motorcycle thefts.

According to statistics, there was also a 47,3% decrease in attempted robberies at commercial establishments; a 31,2% decrease in group robberies; a 28,5% decrease in robberies against vehicles in general; a 25,5% decrease in incidents involving cell phones; and a 23,3% decrease in incidents against taxis. All figures are compared to the same period last year.
 
In Minas Gerais, data from January to March from the Public Security Secretariat (Sesp), through the Citizen Public Security Observatory, showed a 20% reduction in the number of violent crimes, from 36.636 in the first quarter of last year to 25.754 in the same period this year.

The crime that decreased the most was robbery, with a 31,5% drop. The number of homicides fell by 32,2%. Regarding homicide, there was a reduction of 10.434 cases in the state, with a 32,3% decrease in the capital alone.
