Cachoeira reiterates threat: "I'm going to say what I know"
“I want to and will speak about what I know, as a consultant for Delta, regarding the company's relationship with the municipalities and the state government,” said the gambling boss, after returning from his honeymoon in Bahia. This statement is a clear message to the PT and PMDB administrations of important cities in Goiás that maintained contracts with Cavendish's construction company.
Goiás247_ Convicted racketeer Carlinhos Cachoeira has once again threatened to reveal everything he knows. This time, he said he wants to be summoned to testify before the Delta Parliamentary Inquiry Commission, currently suspended by court order, in the Legislative Assembly of Goiás. "I want to and will tell what I know, as a consultant for Delta, about the company's relationship with the municipalities and the state government," Cachoeira told journalist Carla Borges of the Goiânia newspaper O Popular.
Cachoeira's statement is understood as a new threat to the PT and PMDB parties, especially in Goiás. Important municipalities in the state, such as Goiânia (the capital), Anápolis, Aparecida de Goiânia, and Catalão, governed by the PT and PMDB, maintained multi-million dollar contracts with the construction company Delta, a company for which the illegal gambling operator was a consultant and lobbyist. The construction company also has contracts with the government of Goiás, led by Marconi Perillo, but the PSDB politician is not expected to be the primary target of the illegal gambling operator.
Cachoeira made the new threat shortly after returning from his honeymoon with businesswoman Andressa Mendonça at a luxury resort on the Maraú peninsula in Bahia. The O Popular newspaper questioned the racketeer at the headquarters of the 11th Federal Court in Goiânia.
Due to an order from Judge Alderico Rocha Santos, Cachoeira must inform the court of his intention to travel, although this does not depend on the judge's approval. He had already done so before leaving for his honeymoon, and on Thursday he was at the court to express his interest in traveling between Goiânia and Anápolis between January 10th and 20th. Cachoeira also intends to go to Goiatuba, his beloved's hometown, in southern Goiás.
Cachoeira, who remained a target of the Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPI) that bore his name in the National Congress, said he is awaiting a summons for the Delta/Cachoeira CPI, established in the Legislative Assembly of Goiás. The commission was suspended by its member deputies after a preliminary injunction from the State Court of Justice prevented the CPI from analyzing documents related to contracts between municipalities administered by the PT and PMDB parties and Delta.
The CPI appealed the injunction, but the Goiás judiciary has been postponing the decision.
