Bruno and Macarrão were having a gay affair.
That's what Rui Pimenta, the goalkeeper's lawyer, says; Bruno wrote a letter to his friend asking him to confess to the murder of Eliza Samudio.
247- Imprisoned for two years at the Nelson Hungria Penitentiary in Contagem (MG), goalkeeper Bruno wrote a letter to his friend Luiz Henrique Romão, nicknamed Macarrão, asking him to take responsibility for the death of model Eliza Samudio, who disappeared in June 2010.
Bruno's request to Macarrão is part of the goalkeeper's plan B, which he wrote explains that after speaking with his lawyers, they all felt it was best for Macarrão to take the blame so that Bruno could be released from prison. This is because plan A, which was to deny the crime, failed.
However, the content of the letter, published by Veja magazine this week, suggests, according to the goalkeeper's lawyer, Rui Pimenta, that Bruno and Macarrão had a homosexual relationship. “Naturally, given his masculinity, as a gladiator, I understand that a relationship existed between them. I interpret the letter in that way; he wanted to end that relationship,” Rui Pimenta told Grupo Estado.
Another factor that leads Rui Pimenta to believe there was a relationship between Bruno and Macarrão is the text written by Eliza Samudio, attached to the case file, in which she claims to have a video of an alleged orgy between her, Macarrão, and Bruno, material that would ruin the goalkeeper's reputation.
Rui Pimenta will meet with Bruno soon to find out if he actually wrote the letter. “Admitting to writing the letter isn't a problem. What strikes me as odd is that it was intercepted by a prison guard, as the magazine claims, and ended up in the hands of journalists instead of being sent to the Justice system,” said Pimenta, who added: “I sense a very intimate relationship between the two in this letter, and the magazine erred in giving it a different interpretation. There is an attempt to once again tarnish Bruno's image.”
